Take a closer look at your potential users with our newly added metric for the Position Tracking tool — Estimated Traffic.
This feature implies several minor changes within the Position Tracking reports.
First off, the Estimated Traffic metric has been added to the Overview, Landing Pages and Competitor Discovery reports. The Visibility chart in the Overview report now has two new tabs — "Estimated Traffic" and "Average Position".
A domain’s estimated traffic is calculated by multiplying its CTR (“click-through rate,” which shows the probability that the user will click on a domain’s search result depending on its position in the SERP) by its keyword volume and dividing by 30 (the number of days in a month).
Please note: when launching a new campaign, the "Estimated Traffic" tab will be disabled until Volume and CPC data are collected.
If any new keywords have been added to an already existing campaign, they will have no impact on your Estimated Traffic, until we collect data for the Rankings and Volume metrics. If there is an ‘n/a’ value under the Volume column, this indicates that a keyword has no volume in its current location and that its impact on your estimated traffic equals zero.
The Average Position metric displays the average rankings of all keywords from your tracking campaign (keywords that are not ranking are assigned a position of ‘100’.
In the Landing Pages report, there is now a designated column for Estimated Traffic. This column shows data for the first and last day of the selected date range.
When you click on one of the URL blocks, you will expand the list of keywords and the estimated traffic data for each of those keywords.
There have been a few changes to the Competitor Discovery report as well.
Now, there are separate columns for a domain’s Visibility Index and Estimated Traffic.
All updates for the Estimated Traffic metric have only been mirrored in our CSV and XLS exports (not for PDF format).
